Crisis Counseling Program
Virtual Relaxation Room
COVID-19 has changed all of our lives. We are trying to adjust to all of the changes, keep up with new information, and adapt to the “new normal” we are living in. The Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) at EHN wanted to create a type of website and mobile app that could provide various relaxation techniques and online resources.
Texans Recovering Together is the state CCP program. It is administered within the Disaster Behavioral Health Services branch of HHS and provides short-term stress management and crisis counseling to individuals and groups having psychological reactions to large-scale, presidentially declared disasters. By providing emotional support and interventions, Texans Recovering Together CCP awarded EHN the grant to create the project.

Design and develop a website to gather multiple resources from across the web that provide a variety of relaxation techniques. The website went live September 2020. The site was built using WordPress and Elementor Pro to create the custom layout.
After the initial response was very positive, it warranted an additional section dedicated to the youth, called Youth Corner. Also added was a section helping with a relaxation breathing technique for visitors. The grant was extended to create a mobile application that I am currently working on.
